H
ere is some feedback we have received about this course

Listening 2 U is proud to offer our own Suicide Awareness Training, a comprehensive, one-day course designed to help individuals and professionals gain a deeper understanding of suicide, prevention, and compassionate response.

This suicide prevention training is ideal for those working in education, community support, mental health, or care roles, as well as anyone wanting to build confidence in recognising and responding to suicidal thoughts and behaviours.

Throughout the day, participants will:
  • Explore the complex reasons behind suicidal ideation
  • Challenge common myths and misconceptions
  • Learn to recognise behavioural, emotional, and verbal warning signs
  • Practice open, non-judgmental communication using empathy, active listening, and presence

The course also examines the impact of suicide on families, communities, and professionals, highlighting high-risk groups such as young people, LGBTQ+ individuals, and those with a history of mental illness or bereavement.

Participants will gain practical tools for safety planning, referral pathways, and building local resource networks, ensuring timely and effective responses to those at risk. The training also covers professional boundaries, vicarious trauma, and the importance of developing a personalised self-care plan to maintain emotional wellbeing.

By the end of the session, attendees will leave with greater confidence, understanding, and practical skills to contribute to a safer, more informed, and compassionate approach to suicide prevention.

A certificate of attendance is issued upon completion, confirming participation and CPD hours.
