Here is some feedback we have received about this course |
|
Our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion training is a reflective and interactive session designed to support deeper understanding of fairness, difference, and belonging in everyday practice. The course explores what equality and diversity mean beyond policy, inviting participants to reflect on how attitudes, assumptions, language, and behaviour shape individual experiences and workplace culture.
The training introduces the Equality Act 2010 and the 9 Protected Characteristics, offering clear guidance on legal responsibilities while also exploring the lived impact of discrimination, bias, and exclusion. Participants are encouraged to consider the difference between equality and equity, and how unconscious bias, privilege, and power dynamics can influence decision-making, communication, and access to opportunity.
Through guided discussion, real-life scenarios, and practical activities, the session creates space for honest reflection and shared learning. Particular attention is given to inclusive communication, recognising microaggressions, responding to bias, and developing respectful, person-centred ways of working that promote safety, dignity, and trust.
This training is suitable for individuals and teams across all sectors, including health, education, voluntary, and community settings. It is especially relevant for those working directly with people, where awareness, empathy, and inclusive practice are essential.
Outcome: Participants leave with increased understanding, practical strategies, and greater confidence to embed equality, diversity, and inclusion in their everyday work and interactions, helping to create environments where everyone feels valued, respected, and heard.
A certificate of attendance is issued upon completion.
