Listening 2 U is proud to present our own Grief and Loss: Holding Space with Compassion Training — a one-day, experiential, trauma-informed course designed for professionals and individuals who support others through loss.
This grief training course is ideal for therapists, caregivers, educators, community workers, and anyone wishing to deepen their understanding of grief and strengthen their ability to hold space with empathy, presence, and care.
Grief is more than emotion, it lives in the body, mind, and relationships, and is profoundly shaped by culture, identity, and spirituality. This course explores how grief manifests, how to recognise and respond to it in self and others, and how to offer support without fixing, rescuing, or rushing the process.
Participants will engage in reflective writing, group discussion, embodiment practices, and creative rituals to create a safe, supportive learning environment.
Key topics include:
- Mapping personal experiences of grief and loss
- Understanding cultural and spiritual perspectives on mourning
- Setting and maintaining healthy boundaries
- Supporting others without burnout or compassion fatigue
- Creating rituals of remembrance and meaning-making
The training provides a blend of practical tools and emotional insight, helping participants cultivate greater emotional literacy, self-awareness, and confidence in supporting others through grief and loss.
By the end of the day, attendees will leave with a deeper understanding of grief’s many forms, renewed capacity for compassion, and practical skills for sustaining their own wellbeing while supporting others.
A certificate of attendance will be provided upon completion.
