Listening 2 U is proud to present the Improving Social Connections workshop, a 4-hour experiential training designed to help individuals strengthen relationships, enhance communication, and build meaningful human connections in both personal and professional settings.
Grounded in psychological research and social science, this relationship and communication skills course explores why human connection is vital to wellbeing and resilience. Participants are guided to reflect on their own connection styles, identify internal and external barriers, and explore what belonging and authenticity mean in their daily lives.
Through a combination of group discussions, reflective exercises, and interactive activities, attendees will practice key skills such as deep listening, empathy, curiosity, and consistency. The workshop also examines the influence of digital communication and social media, helping participants evaluate how technology can both support and hinder genuine connection.
Participants will also engage in a social network mapping exercise to visualise sources of support, discover where connections can be deepened, and explore opportunities to rebuild strained relationships.
By the end of the session, attendees will:
- Understand the importance of connection for mental health and resilience
- Identify and overcome barriers to authentic relationships
- Develop practical communication and empathy skills
- Set personal goals using tools like the “Stop–Start–Continue” reflection and commitment cards
A certificate of attendance is issued upon completion.
