What is Couples Counselling?

Counselling is a supportive process that helps individuals explore, understand, and, if they choose, make changes to their thoughts, feelings, or behaviours to improve their wellbeing and quality of life.
It’s an opportunity to talk openly with a qualified counsellor—someone who listens without judgment and works under regular professional supervision to ensure the highest standard of care.
We understand that attending your first session can feel daunting.
That’s completely normal and we’re here to support you every
step of the way.

What to Expect in a Session
Each counselling session lasts approximately 50 minutes.
Your counsellor will not tell you what to do, give advice, or offer direct solutions. Instead, they will listen to you with empathy and understanding, supporting you as you explore your thoughts and feelings to help find your own answers.
Sessions are private and confidential, unless there is a safeguarding concern, which will be explained to you in advance. It is a safe, non-judgmental space where you are free to speak openly about what’s on your mind.
A Safe Space for Reflection
The counselling room offers a break from the demands of everyday life—a space just for you. The time between sessions is equally important, allowing you to reflect and begin applying insights gained during your sessions.
