Meet Milo Our Therapy Dog and Barney Our Therapy Dog in Training.
This is Milo our therapy dog (top photo). And Barney Milo's brother a therapy dog in training. Milo is a lovable 5-year-old Labradoodle who is currently training to become a fully qualified therapy dog. Despite still being in training, Milo has already made a remarkable impact on the lives of many clients at Listening 2 U.
Full of energy, affection, and fun, Milo brings a comforting presence to those he works with. He responds especially well to people experiencing anxiety and depression, and his calming nature has proven to be a source of great support. Milo has even accompanied a client to court, offering emotional reassurance during a very difficult time.
As part of his ongoing training, Milo is rewarded with his favourite toy — a ball he loves to play with — helping to reinforce his positive behaviours while keeping things enjoyable for him. Milo is an important part of our team, and we’re excited to watch his journey as he continues to grow into his role as a dedicated and compassionate therapy companion.
Barney
Barney is our youngest team member — still under a year old — and growing fast! He’s full of energy, curiosity, and charm, and is already showing great potential as a future therapy dog.
Once he’s old enough, Barney will begin his Pets As Therapy (PAT) training. His future role will involve working in a variety of environments, offering support and companionship to people in many different settings. Despite his youth, Barney already demonstrates a natural empathy and a keen instinct for knowing when someone needs comfort. He has a calming presence, a joyful outlook on life, and loves nothing more than being stroked and making new friends. While he still enjoys the occasional burst of playful "zoomies" around the room, he quickly settles — always eager to learn and connect. We’re excited to see how Barney continues to grow and make a difference in the lives of those we support.
Both Milo and Barney do not shed their coat so they are hypoallergenic.
