Existential Therapy.

Existential Therapy is a philosophical approach to counselling that focuses on exploring life’s deeper questions—such as meaning, choice, freedom, and responsibility—rather than following a set of techniques. It is well-suited for individuals who wish to increase self-awareness and gain a broader understanding of themselves and the world around them.
Rooted in the ideas of influential 19th and 20th-century philosophers such as Søren Kierkegaard, Friedrich Nietzsche, Jean-Paul Sartre, and Gabriel Marcel, Existential Therapy challenges the notion of a predetermined destiny. Instead, it emphasises that we are each responsible for creating meaning in our own lives.
This approach encourages clients to confront core aspects of human existence—including isolation, mortality, and freedom—and to take ownership of their choices. Rather than focusing on past experiences, Existential Therapy places greater emphasis on the present and future, helping individuals live more authentically and purposefully.
It is a powerful option for those navigating major life transitions, questioning their direction, or seeking to deepen their understanding of personal values and beliefs.
